Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Kushwah

Is the founder, director of yoga education programme & lead trainer at Unika Yoga & Therapy.

Our yoga studio founder Dr. Kuldeep embarked on his journey in yoga at a young age of 14. From his over two decades’ experience in learning, practising and teaching yoga, he has acquired extensive theoretical and practical knowledge. Yoga has become his way of living; Yoga is his faith and devotion.

    Yoga Retreat- Kazakhstan , 5 June 2026 I had a wonderful experience at this yoga retreat in Kazakhstan. The organizer, Unika, was extremely detailed and attentive. She followed up with us daily, giving clear instructions on what to do and where to go. She even sent videos of the meeting locations to make sure we wouldn’t get lost. I really appreciated her responsibility and integrity throughout the entire trip. Before this trip, Kazakhstan felt like a very unfamiliar place to me, but it turned out to be beautiful and welcoming. We visited in mid-May, and although there was some rain, the weather was generally very pleasant with little wind. The surroundings were clean, peaceful, and full of lush trees, , Alatau ( part of Tian Shan) is so beautiful, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I also found the Kazakh language very interesting. One of my favourite activities was zip lining—it was exciting and definitely a highlight of the trip for me. Overall, this retreat was a memorable and enriching experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore a unique destination while deepening their yoga practice. Yoga Therapy course 300 hours Yoga Therapy course is truly worth it. The content is rich and practical, offering much more depth than 200 hours yoga certification. I learned not only the techniques but also the therapeutic principles behind them, which makes my yoga practice and teaching more effective. Highly educational and valuable. With an aging population, many people can benefit from these practices If you are serious about your yoga journey, this is a course you should definitely take.

    It's increasingly difficult to find what you can call a community these days. And Unika has become one for me. I feel welcomed whether I am in social mood or not; environment is designed with people in mind with clean, well equipped tools; and great, knowledgeable teachers are always ready to share and discuss everything from Asana alignment to yoga philosophy at my own pace and interest. YTTC was especially helpful in learning about not just poses but philosophy beyond them. Thank you Dr Kuldeep and Stephanie for the fun and meaningful journey so far!

    Really enjoyed Dr. Kuldeep’s Saturday yoga class. It was a great workout — definitely made me sweat, and I left feeling very satisfied and refreshed. Dr. Kuldeep was very attentive and helped adjust our postures a lot throughout the class, which I’m very thankful for. Great instructor and highly recommended!

    I attended a 70-minute group yoga session today with Stephanie from Unika Yoga, focused on hips, shoulders, and back stretches. It was an excellent experience. Stephanie is truly among the best in her field. The session was energising from start to finish, with a well-balanced flow that worked deeply into areas that often hold tension. What stood out most was her approach. She encouraged everyone to move at their own pace, creating a comfortable and inclusive environment. Her instructions were clear, precise, and easy to follow, complemented by thoughtful guidance throughout the session. You always felt supported, yet never pressured. It was also great value for money, given the quality of the session and the personalised attention throughout. I walked away feeling both relaxed and recharged. Thoroughly enjoyed the session and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mindful, well led practice.

    Class was good with Mr Kul deep. Studio was well air conditioned. And the toilets were accessible and clean. It is common for yoga studios to do a medical sign off. The emergency contacts and health/medical conditions are standard for safety, however the extraneous personal details in the compulsory form by Unika felt unnecessary

    I recently went to Singapore for a short trip and wanted to check out a yoga class while I was there. I was so lucky to get Dr. Kuldeep’s class, it turned out to be such a wonderful experience. It was truly a pleasure meeting him, and the practice was absolutely amazing. With his clear guidance and supportive teaching style, I was able to unlock and finally achieve several asanas that I had struggled with before. His class creates a safe and encouraging environment that allows you to challenge yourself while feeling supported throughout the session. I’m genuinely grateful for his patience, wisdom, and the positive energy he brings into the room. I would also like to mention the manager, Stephanie, who is also a yoga instructor. She was incredibly friendly and helpful—guiding me to the studio and patiently sharing detailed information about the courses I enquired about. Her warm and welcoming attitude made my whole experience even more pleasant. Highly recommended to anyone looking to deepen their practice.     Unika's 200hours Yoga Teacher's Training has been an incredible and eye opening journey for me! I came in expecting to learn most about asanas, but I ended the lessons with understanding yoga holistically & finding how yoga's philosophies really can resonate in my daily life. And yet also learnt so so much about leading classes as well. Dr Kuldeep's and Stephanie's knowledge, sincerity and dedication to guiding us is so deeply appreciated - thank you so much! The course is also well organised & meticulously planned. We even have a special Kriya retreat to look forward to after our lessons ending! Lastly, the Unika culture of acceptance & support has been so welcoming - no competition, just uplifting one another no matter what journeys we are on. No regrets with taking on Unika's YTT course - only that I didn't start sooner 🤭

    Unika yoga retreat, I highly recommend! May 2025 Bhutan retreat was my second yoga retreat with Unika. It was another unforgettable experience in many ways. What I felt most comfortable was Stephanie’s professional advice and instructions throughout the retreat. She is such a caring and loving person who I can trust. Yoga led by Dr Kuldeep is always amazing. We practiced yoga (asana, pranayama, meditation) daily within him, while enjoyed sightseeing and free time. The balance of yoga time and other activities time was just nice. I would like to join Unika yoga retreat again, not only for the destination but friendly people; Stephanie, Kuldeep, friends, participants, local guides and all others. Unika yoga can connect us all 🙂

    Today’s session at Unika Yoga and Therapy was wonderful. The back and neck stretches were much needed, as I am computer bound all day at work. I have taken other yoga classes before, but at Unika, the instructors let you practice at your own pace and are very good at teaching how to use yoga equipments. The equipments are hygienic as and they provide disinfectant for cleaning. I had a wonderful experience with my friends.

    Thank you Unika Yoga & Therapy for a wonderful 200 hours YTTC! I gained yoga knowledge beyond the physical poses, self-awareness, mindfulness and personal growth in my yoga journey. A big big thank-you to the excellent trainers Dr. Kudeep (PhD Yoga) and Stephanie Ng ( Senior Teacher) for their guidance, warmth, and encouragement throughout the course, and their continued support even after the course. I also completed “The Art of Alignment & Adjustment”, a 10-hour workshop with Unika, which helped me deepen my understanding of how proper alignment and mindful adjustment can make yoga practice safer and more effective. It was a wonderful workshop — definitely not to be missed! Both courses were truly enriching, giving me a deeper understanding and insight of yoga.

    The 2025 Bhutan trip with Unika Yoga was an absolute blast! Doing yoga on the banks of the Wangchu in the Terma Linca resort was surreal. Not only was the energy of the place tranquil and beautiful, but practising with 25 other skilled students turned out to be very uplifting experience. It was fun to hang out together with nothing more weighty than choosing between hiking / biking / eating out. I was happy to get the extended pranayam and meditation sessions with the one in the Buddha Dordenma meditation hall being the best. The Sound bath therapist was brilliant, but I was too tired after the all day outing to Punakha to relax properly. Both resorts selected - the river side Terma Linca as well as nestled in wilderness Tenzling Luxury Villas were awesome. Staff managed luggage beautifully. Grateful I didn’t have to. Food was a bit too much - less food please on the next trip. I was thrilled to make it to the top of Tiger’s Nest. Glad I did this with the group - the encouragement from the others definitely reduced the misery of uphill trek. I also got the opportunity to walk part of the way on my own - in complete silence, one with nature and her sounds, quite a meditative experience. The guides were right - no visit to Bhutan could be complete without visiting Taktsang Monastery. The hot stone bath that followed lived up to it’s rating and I woke up the next day with no pains. Hats off to our lovely guides, Karma Jigyel and Karma Dorji, for managing our boisterous group and bending over backwards to address all our requests. The pics I took of them serve as a memory of the beautiful spirit of Bhutan that will always remain in my heart. And finally, kudos to Stephanie and Dr Kuldeep for inspiring so many of us to follow in their footsteps. I will enjoy my future yoga sessions in studio with a deeper connection and bond to all around me.

    I attended Unika Yoga's Signature 1 Yoga session by Dr Kuldeep and it was amazing! The guidance was clear and gentle, creating a peaceful space to connect deeply with my body and breath. I left feeling refreshed, balanced, and truly centered. Space was clean and room had a lovely room. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a thoughtful and transformative yoga experience. Hope to try the other classes by other teachers next time too. 🙏🏾

    I’ve coming to Unika Yoga & Therapy regularly and I really love the experience here. The teachers are extremely patient and professional, and they are truly very attentive to individual abilities. I really appreciate that they always advise us not to push ourselves if we can’t do the pose perfectly. It really creates a safe and encouraging environment. Highly recommend!!

    We attend the private sessions with Dr. Kuldeep and it helped us with many poses and also stretch. Would recommend for people who is looking for more attention and a deeper experience in doing Yoga. I have been practising yoga for a while, with this private sessions. It helped me with more deeper poses. Very clean and peaceful studio.

    I'm a beginner, and I've made significant progress through classes in Unika Yoga taught by very kind and experienced teachers such as Dr Kuldeep, Stephanie, and a lot more amazing teachers. The studios are all well equipped and perfect for practice and class. As a beginner, I'm guided to improve with knowledge and yoga skills, which only after 2 months I've started enjoying advanced classes. Everyone is lovely, you will make friends throughout your time here, including with these friendly teachers. Entering here had changed my life. Highly recommended for you to start your yoga journey here in Unika Yoga, in which yoga classes are open for the beginner until highly advanced levels.

    I was part of the YTTC200 weekend batch in Aug 2023. The weekend schedule was not too early to start and not too late to end the day. The theory sharing and practicals were equally covered every week which was engaging. Always had demonstrations/ applied practices for theories that covered from the content, Asana, Kriya, Mudra, Bandha, Pranayama, meditation and Anatomy. The pair/group practices and feedback sessions for asana and teaching gave me the ideas and appreciation to deal with diverse people who have different bodies conditions and unique needs on the real ground. The demonstrations of 6 cleansing techniques by Dr. Kuldeep and the hands-on experiments of Kirya techniques to ourselves in the outdoor class gave me the insights to apply theory into practice. The hands-on experience was exciting, fun and memorable though somewhat skeptical to try initially. Not only Dr. Kuldeep is experienced, highly knowledgeable, capable to train and guide the practitioners of different levels and tailor to the need of individuals during the training but also, he always teaches us with passion, patience and professionalism throughout the course. Besides, Teacher Stephanie facilitated sincerely and embodied us with insightful teaching methodologies passionately. It equipped trainees with essentials, do’s and don’t when conducting the classes after the course. The support I receive throughout and after the course is heart warming and memorable as the vibe of the studio was caring and inclusive. In my experience, Unika’s YTTC200 program is well balanced and enable the trainees with solid fundamentals to the teaching journey. Thank you. Namaste.

    I recently had the opportunity to join a yoga retreat to Bhutan on April 2025, organized by Unika Yoga & Therapy, and it was an experience that deeply resonated with me. We stayed in comfortable, upscale accommodations nestled in the serene mountain landscapes. The settings were tranquil, providing the perfect environment for relaxation and reflection. The yoga sessions were well-structured, catering to practitioners of all levels. We explored various practices, including pranayama and sound healing, which enriched our overall yoga experience. Beyond the yoga mat, we had the chance to visit Bhutan's iconic landmarks, such as the Tiger's Nest Monastery, immersing ourselves in the country's rich cultural heritage and other itinerary as well. Throughout the retreat, the Unika yoga & therapy team was attentive and accommodating, ensuring our comfort and addressing any individual needs, which made the journey even more enjoyable.     I recently completed my Yoga teacher training course from Unika, and it was a transformative journey. Dr Kuldeep, Stephanie and all the other teachers are extremely knowledgeable, supportive and help you on your journey at your own pace. The curriculum was well rounded and included the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga in a balanced way. The environment allowed me to feel calm and made the experience a truly enriching one. Always felt protected and nurtured. Highly recommended for anyone not only seeking a yoga education but also to deepen individual practice!

    Joining my first retreat with Unika Yoga in Bhutan was an unforgettable experience. The retreat featured a comprehensive and well-planned itinerary that kept us engaged and allowed plenty of opportunities to connect with like-minded people. Thanks to the retreat, I was also able to extend my trip with friends, making the journey even more memorable and meaningful. The supportive community and the beautiful setting created a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the retreat. Stephanie’s thoughtful care added an extra layer of comfort-she provided a detailed packing list that was more thorough than I expected, sent regular weather forecast reminders to help us prepare, and generously gave and lent me some of her sweaters and winter jackets so I didn’t have to worry about buying new gear. Her kindness helped me focus on the yoga teacher training course and enjoy a safe, worry-free trip. Overall, the Bhutan retreat was not only a wonderful yoga and cultural experience but also a heartwarming journey thanks to the caring environment fostered by Unika Yoga and its instructors.
